Divine
Gayatri |
|
"OM BHUR
BHUVA SVAHA TAT SAVITUR VARENYAM BHARGO
DEVASYA DHEEMAHI DHI YO YONAH PRACHODAYAT." |
|
|
The Gayatri
Mantra is the universal prayer enshrined in the Vedas, the most
ancient Scriptures of Man. A Universal prayer is that which is
to be chanted with devotion for one's spiritual benefit in all
the ages in any part of the world.

The
Divine Gayatri |
The twenty-four syllables of the
Divine Gayatri
are the body
of this creation its principles,
its powers, its spirit.
And these twenty-four syllables
of the Mantra of Gayatri
when uttered correctly
with the rightness of spirit
are the waking and the rousing
of our body, and they,
these twenty-four syllables
make man then human
and when he is human
he knows his self which is Brahman;
and they, the twenty-four syllables
are the twenty-four incarnations of God
from whom true knowledge is then begot,
the knowledge of right conduct,
the knowledge of social justice,
the knowledge which maketh for human welfare,
even as the Puranas tell it;
and when rightly meditated upon
the Divine Gayatri
will most undoubtedly
bestow on us assuredly
the lustre of Gods.
To say it again, Gayatri is
the essence of Dharma, of Rta,
of Vasdhaiva kutumbakam
(this world is one family)
the one family of the world of men
which has
only one citizenship,
one flag,
one government,
one culture,
and the full brotherhood of Man.
To the Divine Gayatri,
so glory be. |
